I really really like this place. But I get so disappointed with their buns. Their Assam burger is exceptionally tasty when I want a different style burger but I want to get them to change their buns. They're dry and just not good. I want a fluffy dreamy burger bun. Citizen- what can I do to get yall to offer more bun choices? This dry wheat bun ain't cutting it and I really think yall could have to most perfect burger! My mouth don't want none unless you get fluffy buns hun. Or maybe I'll get take out and replace your buns at home. ‍

This is such a wonderful restaurant with excellent vegan food and a good staff. I've been go in the since the pandemic and now quite sad to see that it is closing.

I was so delighted to discover this place! One of my closest friends who is vegan was coming to town to visit, so I had researched various vegan eateries that would be able to cater to her needs and also have food I would enjoy eating as someone who isn't vegan. When we arrived, we were quickly seated and greeted by our server. Our server was so attentive, and made sure to check in on us to see how we were enjoying our experience. My friend got a burger with potatoes and coffee, while I had the flapjacks and a mango mimosa. We both loved our food!! My friend's plate was massive, which was a delightful surprise for her especially since she usually struggles to get food that is actually filling when we go out. My flapjacks were so delicious, and I loved the fresh fruit and dash of cinnamon on top that really gave an extra burst of flavor. Indoors, the restaurant is so adorable and has beautiful art depicted on their walls. I highly recommend coming here. Whether you're in need of a plant based diet or not, you will find something delicious here to enjoy, and have a great time with friends!

It was nice to have a healthy lunch here! The servicer was friendly and the food was good. We got the mixed basket which was quite huge but they ran out of yuca fries. I enjoyed the fries but I wasn't a fan of the fried zucchini. They were hard to take out and a bit too breaded. I did enjoy the power bowl as it was a yummy, filling, and crunchy. I liked it a lot, but that's what I expected for $15. The space is nice too with good natural light and there's plenty of parking! Would come again!

While visiting Austin, we decided to try a new (to us) restaurant: Citizen Eatery! They're a 100% plant-based restaurant, open for all meals, with loads of options! We were hooked after reading the breakfast options they offered, like The Egg McCartney & The Breakfast Sandwich. But by the time we got there, it was lunch time, & I normally only prefer "eggs" in the morning. So, we started with the The Citizen Queso (local Credo Foods chile con queso with local, non-gmo corn chips) & their special of the day, fried pickles. Both starters had such good flavor & seasonings, & were truly addicting. For our entrees, we ordered the Citizen Brat, (classic bratwurst on a wheat bun with sauerkraut, grilled red peppers & sweet onions topped with pickled mustard seed aioli) & The Flame Grilled Tofu Sandwich (organic marinated tofu, house pecan pesto, red bells, zucchini, grilled onions with house lemon-garlic aioli on toasts). I was told the bratwurst sandwich had incredible flavor & tasted like "the real thing", though I sadly didn't get a bite (because he ate it all way too fast LOL). The tofu sandwich was packed with flavor, especially with the pesto & garlic-lemon aioli. Each were served with fries, perfectly seasoned & cooked to perfection! The waiters & hosts were very attentive & friendly, & even "nerded out" with my husband over his LOTR shirt & tattoo! The place itself is decorated tastefully eclectic, which I absolutely loved. We would definitely come back here to try their breakfast once & for all, especially because of how amazing our first experience was!

Love the ice cream and service here! Always good music and a cute spot for a date. The menu is huge and so are the serving sizes.

For all your brunching needs, Citizen Eatery is always a top recommendation. Whenever I go, I end up catching bits of conversation discussing whether or not the food in question is meatless, dairy-free, or otherwise plant-based. Make no mistake, the whole menu is vegan, and fully omnivore approved. It takes a concerted effort to NOT order the chorizo omelette, but the Eggs McCartney sandwich is a close second. With a toasted English muffin, salty/smoky "bacon" tofu, folded JUST egg, and melted cheddar-style slices, it's a classic combo for a reason. Pro tip: add avocado, then have the top of the English muffin like avocado toast, and the other half as an open-faced egg sandwich. You get two meals in one without feeling stuffed after! Of course they have fabulous salads, bowls, tacos, curry, cocktails, snacks; the whole gamut of comforting, healthy-ish eats. I've never left sad or hungry.

Delicious vegan pesto! The drinks were good and the avocado chocolate mousse was my favorite! Very cute interior and chill waitstaff. Went again today for brunch- migas were amazingly tasty and the flapjacks were awesome. Great service too!

Another great vegan eatery in Austin! Can get pricey if you order a lot, but even just one meal is pretty filling and ranges from $12-15. They have a "breakfast all day" part of their menu, which is what caught my eye. I went for a breakfast sandwich that came with potatoes and caramelized onions on the side, while the sandwich itself had vegan egg, lentils, sauce, tomato, and lettuce. Overall, a tasty sandwich! If you'd like to treat yourself, come with an appetite for dessert too! They serve an adorable banana pudding served in a mini mason jar.
